Reading a corner: brake, trail, apex, unwind

Reggie Sims

The corner starts before the corner. Where you brake, how you release, and what the car is doing at turn-in decide the rest.

Trail-braking isn't a party trick — it's how you keep the front loaded so the car will actually rotate. Ease off the brake as you add steering, not before.

Apex late, unwind early. If you're still adding lock at the exit, you apexed too soon. Patience in equals speed out.

Illustrative editorial for this proof of concept.
